I am enjoying my studies at Queensland Univeristy of Technology. My advice to prospective students is to speak up and ask questions if not they are going to assume you know what is going on. Many of the classes are built on previous knowledge from past classes, etc and if you are behind it doesn't help the learning process.
It was problematic as I handled my own application. I called them quite often to get questions answered and to solve problems.
I don't receive a scholarship. I have to pay my own fees.
My course is on teaching young children (early childhood). I enjoy the hands on approach some lecturers have on some units. I study on an average of 10 to 13 hours each week. Good and well priced accommodation is difficult to find, especially close to the city.
The library is big, there are many computers available for use in school. There are many shops to look at in Brisbane. I enjoy the restaurants and points of interests in Brisbane, although after a few weeks, it does tend to get boring. It is quite hard to find work at the moment due to the recession, they tend to hire PRs or citizens.
It should be relatively easy to find a job after finishing my course. I intend to go home (Singapore) to work if I can't find a school to work in.
