This course covers the skills required to become a professional make-up artist and is based on industry needs and competency standards. National Unit Code Unit of Competency are in CUFMUP02A Design, Apply and Remove Make-up, CUFSAFO1A Follow Health, Safety and Security Procedures, CUFGEN01A Develop and Apply Industry Knowledge, CUSRAD02A Conduct Research, CUEMUP05A Dress (style) Wigs, CUEWRH19A Maintain Wigs and Hairpieces, CUFPOP02A Breakdown a Script, CUFMUP03A Maintain Make-up Continuity, CUEMUP6A Dress Hair for a Performance or Production, CUECOR2A Work with Others, CUERAD01A Collect and Organise Information, WRB22A Design and Apply Make-up for Photography, CUFMUPOIA Design and Apply and Remove Period and Specialised Make-up, Subjects within the units will include Fashion, Bridal and Catwalk, Make-up for Black & White Photography, Make-up Design Presentation, Colour Theory, Basic Hairstyling Techniques, Corrective Make-up Techniques, Casuality Simulation, Opera and Ballet Make-up, Ageing for Theatre and Film, Period Make-up and Hair Styling Techniques, Animal and Clown Make-ups, Face Painting Techniques, Sculpture and Basic Special Effects, Manufacture your own tools of the trade, Body Painting and Fake Tattoo’s, Make and Apply Bald Caps, A Comprehensive professional make-up kit is provided to all students enrolled in the Certificate IV in Make-up. (Which includes make-up products and equipment such as professional quality brush kit). The fee Includes Course fee, Make Up Kit, Insurance. The international course fee is Course fee, Make up kit, Admin fee (Government fees), Insurance (off site/work experience).

Entry requirements:

All students wanting to enroll from overseas, where English is not their first language, need to provide evidence of their English language proficiency, as stated by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Indigenous Affairs regulations. The minimum level of English proficiency accepted by this college is an IELTS score of 5.5.

Application details:

The application packet must contain Form 157A Application for a student (temporary) visa, their passport, their current Confirmation of Enrollment certificate or letter of offer, evidence of their health insurance, evidence that they can pay their course fees, evidence that they have enough money to support them to stay in Australia, their health examination result, certified evidence of the result of the IELTS test score. All applicants must complete an application form. All applicants are interviewed. All applicants sit a basic make-up test or submit a portfolio of related areas of interest: art, design, photographs of make-up, sculpture etc. All applicants must be over 16 yrs. Complete the Overseas Student Enrolment Form and collect other documents relevant to their application including certified evidence of English Language proficiency from IELTS. Completed Overseas Student application form, Examples of their own make-up work, drawings and/or designs, and/or sculpture, and / or hair styling work and a declaration of authenticity and currency, if applying for R.P.L status, copies of original qualifications, transcripts of course results and explanation of subjects studied, (declaration of authenticity and currency), a brief written explanation in English (approximately half-one page) of their reasons for studying Make-up.
