Established in 1870, the University of Ballarat is the third oldest educational institution in Australia. The university has 25,000 students of whom 7,500 are international students. It has established three premises in Ballarat and one campus each at Horsham, Stawell and Ararat in addition to a Technology Park. UB Tec College, a new Technical Training Centre is the latest addition. It offers teaching, training and research in the fields of arts, sciences and humanities. The TAFE institutes of the university are situated at Stawell, Horsham and Ararat.
