Murdoch, a public university was initially established as a research oriented institution, but has now diversified into the field of academic education. It is located in Perth, Western Australia and has three campuses at Murdoch, Rockingham and Peel. Currently around 15,000 students are enrolled at the university including 3,000 international students. It offers many study programs in the fields of Law, Engineering, IT, Media Studies, Biotechnology and Business. The university also has a School of Journalism and a Veterinary School in Western Australia apart from a Technological Institute and the Murdoch College which provide diploma courses and secondary higher education.
